use of UC2845D

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UC2845, UCC28740

can i  use uc2845-D8 in my battery charger application, where th output voltage have to change from 13 to 15V...?? & what will be its switching frequency..?

  • The switching frequency is user settable, it depends on the value of the resistance and capacitance connected to the Rt/Ct pin of the IC.
The UC2845 can be used for such an application if it is designed to power limit at the maximum load current at 15V. It will then run at the same power while the battery voltage is below 15V, and hence deliver higher load current.
The UCC28740 might be more suitable for your application. It has a constant output current limit more suitable for battery charging applications. Switching frequency varies between 100kHz and 170Hz depending on load.

    Thanks
