a customer of mine is looking for a device like BQ24172 but not standalone...

he has 1S8P Li-Ion battery ... I wasn't able to find anything better than BQ24292 / BQ24295 (OTG devices, not needed) or the BQ24707 (that requires ext. FET)...

maybe you could propose something else / new

What is the charging voltage/ charge current requirement for their battery?

I will look through our portfolio, but if they are 8P and even moderate capacity, they may have no choice to go with external FETs.

Vincenzo,

These are not devices that I support, but the bq25896 has integrated FETs, 4A charging, 14V Vin(max), and OTG functionality (although you said it was not needed)

The bq24250 may suit your needs if your charging current is low enough (or willing to put two in parallel). This is a 2A charger with 10.5V vin operating and will not be damaged until 22V.

Both devices are I2C
