Question of TPS65132 in smare handheld application

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65132

Hi, Team

This is FAE Ray Chang who is in charge of USI.

My customer has a project for smart handheld application.

They are studying TPS65132 now, we have some questions as below:

  1. Could you please help to provide program example code for write data to 0x00~0x03 and WED bit (0xff??)?

  2. Both IVR and DR data will keep or not once Vin turn off ?

  • Hello Ray,

The programming of the device is described in datasheet from page 17 on (figure13 to 15). Only the data in the IVR is kept if the device is turned off. The data on DR is copied in the IVR only if WEDis set to HIGH.

    Best regards,
    Diaara
  • Hi, Diaara

    For the question #1,

We wolud like to know what content is we should write to 0x00~0x03.

Do you have the sample code that can share to me?

  • Hello Ray,

We do not have a sample code to share. Please have a look into the datasheet of TPS65132 on page 24. There you can find the default programming of several different TPS65132 devices. In the table on page 4 of the datasheet you can find the description of what these values mean according the output voltages, the application as well as the active discharge settings.

In general the device is already preprogrammed, so you could just turn it on as is and you do not need to program it first. When the power supply is turned off, the device will keep the values in the EEPROM, but not in the registers, but before the device is starting, the EEPROM values are loaded into the registers and then the IC starts with these values.

Best would be, if you order an EVM and download the software and test it out.

    Best regards,
    Brigitte
