LM5088-1 Output Noise Issue.

Hello,

We are Using LM5088-1 for one of our automotive application.

In which we are getting Noise at Output Voltage. We are using same as it reference design schematic of LM5088-1. which is given by TI official website.

To reduce output noise we have added one 100nF capacitor across Sense resistor. But after adding 100nF Resistor, output voltage is failed.

so, my question is how to eliminate output Noise?

Is there any provision for output short circuit protection?

Please find following Image of output Voltage Noise.

Waiting for your response.

Thanks,

Warm regards,

  • Hardik,

I have moved your post to the Non-Isolated DC/DC forum.

  • Hardik,

In the screen capture above what is the operating condition? VIN, IOUT.... anything that may have been changed for the original design. The noise looks to be high frequency. It is important that your probe have a small ground loop when probing the output voltage. If it doesn't then an erroneous measurement can be made and there might not be any high frequency ringing. If there is truly a high frequency ring then add a few ceramic capacitors to the output. Values like 1n 10nF 100nF should help with high frequency ringing.

Do you have any waveforms of the output failing? Does the output not regulate or does it oscillate?

    Thanks,

    Garrett
