Question on the caculation of bq27441 Taper Rate

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24079, BQ27441-G1

I use bq24079 as the charge controller, and use bq27441 as the gas gauge.

I have some problems on the caculation of the Taper Rate of bq27441.

First, let's discuss the situation in which the system is power off when charging.

For bq24079,

When EN1EN2=01时, the current limit is decied by the external resist, I take RISET=820, so ICHG = KISET/RISET=1085mA

and When EN1EN2=10时, the current limit=500mA, so ICHG = 500mA

So,

according to the bq27441_quick_start.pdf, the Iterm should take the max value. So Iterm=0.11*Ichg, and

Taper Rate = Design Capacity / (0.1 * Taper Current)

The Capacity of my battery is 2000mAh, so the Taper Rate is caculated as shown in the following table:

EN1EN2=01

EN1EN2=10

ICHG

1085mA

500mA

Iterm

119mA

55mA

Taper Rate

168.1

363.6

I think the caculation should be right.

But, addording to bq27441-G1_TR.pdf, it says:

the unit is 0.1Hr, so the maximum value of Taper Rate is 200.

Q1:As shown, when bq24079的EN1EN2=10, the caculated value of Taper Rate=363, which >200, what is wrong? what should I do?

Q2:The above caculation is in the situation that the system is power off when charging. But if the system still works when charging, part of the current will supply the system, and the actual CHG Current decreases, which varies with the system state. In this situation, how should I caculate the Taper Current? If I still use the Taper Rate I caculated in the above table, will the gauge takes a big error?

Thank you.
