LM5033 Vref pin

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5033

Team,

My customer is using the LM5033 in a push pull configuration.  They are not able to provide 5mA on the 2.5V Vref pin, but maybe 1/3 of a mA.  Will this still work as no min is specified on page 5 of the electrical characteristics?

Regards,

Aaron

  • The Vref is an output from the IC. If the customer do not need a 2.5V reference for some other part of the circuit they don't have to use this functionality. If they do require the reference, then they will need to provide more current to the pin than they draw. Obviously if they draw more current than they provide the pin voltage will be pulled down, as per the datasheet, the IC does not source current from the pin.

If they require the functionality, why not just tie Vref to Vcc with a 1.8k or so....
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks
