Hi Team,

 

Our customer would like to know difference in “Method of soft start” between TPS63060 and TPS63070.

My understanding is as follows.

The control system is the same.

However, I understand that the current limit value during soft start is different.

 

Is my understanding correct?

And, could you please let us know if you have any information?

    Hi Hideto-san,

    the basic priciple of controlling the current is the same. The current is measured on the high-side input FET.

    TPS63070 has an additional feature which reduced the current limit during the soft-start phase to below 1.5A - typically to 1A.

    In addition to the longer ramp-time, this keeps the inrush current low.
