TPS65132B / to release data line (SDA)

Guru 29720 points

Hi Team,

My customer is evaluating TPS65132B in his system.
He found TPS65132B hold SDA low state when the system is forced to hard reset during I2C master is reading registers from TPS65132B.

Is there any method to release SDA from low state to Hi-Z under the following conditions?

- I2C master can't access TPS65132B until TPS65132B release SDA to Hi-Z.
- VIN of TPS65132B is connected to Li-ion battery directly, so power cycling can't be used.

The datasheet shows pulling both ENP and ENN low disables the device, does it mean SDA is released when ENP=ENN=low?

  • Hello Yaita-san,

What do you mean with "hard reset"?
When ENN=ENP=low the expected behavior is that SDA line is released.

  • Hi Diaara-san,

    >What do you mean with "hard reset"?
I heard it is my customer's system reset and I2C master doesn't send SCL during hard reset.
There is the potential for TPS65132B to hold SDA low state if hard reset is occured unexpectedly.

I appreciate for your support. I understood.
