DC to AC Conversion

Hi Team,

I know this is obviously the AC to DC and DC to DC forum, but I am wondering if we have any parts or solutions for DC to AC conversion. I have modules that run off of AC power, but have a battery backup, and thus DC power will be applied, but needs to be turned into AC in order to be used by my modules.

Please let me know if we have any solutions I can take a look at.

Hi Jared,

If the modules are standard AC/DC modules then there is a good chance that they will also work from a DC input. If running from a battery backup then the voltage may need to be boosted to the correct input range to allow the modules to run.

Can you check if the modules will run from a dc input and what power level you require ? We can then check for controller solutions, by the way do you require isolation between the battery and the modules?

Hi Peter,

The modules cannot run on DC. No isolation is needed between the battery and modules. The hope is that there can be some boost in the DC to AC converter.

Do we have anything that can accomplish that?

Jared,
Talk to the C2000 MCU team. They do DC/AC inverters for motor drive/solar and have a few reference designs. We don't have any analog controllers to my knowledge where we have done inverter designs.
