Problem initiating communication with bq76PL536A

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76PL536A

I am currently trying to use the bq76PL536A to monitor a 4 cell Li-ion battery, but i am having some touble getting it to respond. When the ic is asserted (CS_H=0) the SDO_H jumps to 5 V and stay there until the ic is deasserted.

I have double+tripple checked the connections to the host (SDO/SCLK/SDI and CS)

Right after startup, i send a new address to the bq76, writing 01, 3B, 01, 02 to set the address to 1

I then attempt and read out the status register with 02, 00, 01, 00, 00   but getting no response.

What am i missing?

thanks

Connection and voltages:

Battery voltage is around 16ish Volt in total.

The LDOD2, LDOD1, LDOA and REG50 are all 5V

SDO_H connected to logic analyzer

SDI_H is connected to the host

CS_H is conected to hsot

DRDY_H is 5V at startup.

HSEL and CONV_H is connected to GND

GND is shared with the host board as well as the logic analyzer which is connected to monitor the waveforms
