Need DC/DC Converter to meet medical requirement 2 x MOPP

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5021, LM5035, UCC28250, LM5025, UCC2897A

Hi team,

I am seeking a DC/DC converter to meeting the 2 x MOPP spec from the IEC60601-1 3rd edition standard:

I noticed there was another E2E post that asked a similar question:

My question is, do we have anything that can potentially meet these specs? Here is an example of a part that does meet the requirements:

Looking forward to your feedback.

Best regards,

Jared

  • Hi Jared,
From the threads you cited, we don't know any TI's power modules can meet this requirements.
But you could double confirm this in another forum "power modules", if you are seeking the power modules solution.
    e2e.ti.com/.../

If your customer can design the power supply, and they are seeking for the PWM controllers. then TI have many controllers can help this design.
What information we need is the input range, output range, output load and efficiency requirement

Hope this answers your question. Let me know if further explanation would be helpful.

  • Hi Kening,

The setup with the controller would still need to meet the IEC60601-1 standard, do we have any devices that meet that standard?

    Thank you,
    Jared
  • Hi Jared,

Most of the controllers in isolation topology categories(Flyback, Halfbridge, full bridge, pushpull, forward, etc) can be used to design the converter which could meet IEC60601-1.

    Flyback: UCC3843, LM5021

    Halfbridge: UCC28250, LM5035

    ACF: LM5025, UCC2897A

    etc..

Please note that the challenge is the system level design not controller.
