TPS65218 GPIO3

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65218

Hello all,

I have questions about TPS65218. GPIO3 is INUT mode as default.

Q1:

If GPIO3 function is not udesd, What is right solution?  (tied low or tied high?)

Q2:

If DCDC5 is not used, FB5 is connected to FB6. Do you have any concern?

Best Regards.,

  • Iwasaki-san,

Thanks for the post. What do you mean by "INUT mode as default"? Below are my responses to your queries. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

    Q1:

If GPIO3 function is not udesd, What is right solution?  (tied low or tied high?)

[PK] GPIO3 should be pulled up to an I/O voltage if it is not being used. (100kohm pull up can be used)

    Q2:

If DCDC5 is not used, FB5 is connected to FB6. Do you have any concern?

[PK] FB5 can be connected to FB6. However, if DCDC6 were to be disable via the I2C register 0x11 then DCDC5 would also need to be disabled in register 0x11 to prevent DCDC5 from switching when DCDC6 is disabled. If this is done, then there shouldn't be any concern.
