bq27426 Data memory value setting

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

I tested bq27426EVM with bqStudio.
I changed design capacity value to 1000mAh from 1340mAh. However it was initialized to 1340mAh by POR.
How can I change the design capacity value and other parameter?

  • Hi Kohei,

As you said, your gauge has been initialized by POR.

To solve this ,you could do as below procedure:

    1.  At your first set-up of gauge, set your parameters in "Data Memory--Gas Gauging-- State--Design Capacity". Then export the Data Memory file(gg.csv) and save it.

    2. When your gauge go to POR, just import the file that you save before. Then you can see the parameters will become the value that you set before.

For other parameters, you could do like this, too.

  • Sammi-san,

    Thank you for your answer.
If the battery pack of application is removable, do we must save data memory value?
If it is yes, please let me know the parameters which we should save.

And how can we judge the device that we can change initial data memory value or not?
This is first time that I found the device which we can not change initial value (ROM data). I think bq20zxx, bq40zxx and bq275xx can this change.

  • Hi Kohei,

If you need re-set some parameters. like capacity, taper current, etc, I think it is better for you to export data memory. You don not need to decide which parameter to be saved, as when you export your data memory, all parameters will be exported.

For some gauges that you mentioned, like bq20zxx, bq40zxx and bq275xx, are all flash-based gauge; but bq274xx is ROM-based gauge. You can judge from the datasheet.  Thank you.
