Hi, I am using a solar panel (SLMD121H10L) that has V_oc = 6.3V, V_mpp = 5.01V, and P_max = 223mW and one Lithium Polymer battery . I'm looking for a PMIC that has the same features as bq25570 ( it has over/under voltage threshold protecting battery from overcharge and over-discharge, MPPT, etc.) The only problem for bq25570 is its V_in range from 0.1~5.1V which lower than V_oc from the solar panel. I have hard time finding an alternative PMIC that fits the PMIC and the battery. Is there any advice? Thanks in advance.

The bq25570 is a boost charger so it needs the solar panel VMPP to be less than the charge voltage. Do you have the option to reconfig your solar panel as two 2.5V panels in parallel? If not, the bq24210 is a buck charger that might work for you. It is designed for much larger (higher output current) 5V solar panels but should still work for you.

There is size constraint on the solar panels, but I found an alternative solar panel with V_oc = 2.52V, V_mpp = 2V, and P_max = 89mW. I can try to use two or three of them in parallel or I can try to change the PMIC to bq24210. Thank you very much for the help.
