bq76930 over current protection during charge

Hi,

Could you let me know why bq769x0 doesn't have over current protection during charge?

Some of my customer requests over current protection during charge within few ms.

So it can't be performed by host, it has to be performed by hardware protection.

But almost of bq protection devices including bq769x0 don't have over current protection during charge.

    HI David,

    Most of the customers prefer the OC protection function to be offered by the Charger.  The bq  Monitors and protectors do not have this   function. But in lieu of this function, the cell level OVP threshold  detection can be another alternate means of opening the CHG  FET controlled by the AFE IC or the  charger to stop open the a switch on the CH path.

    The OVP can also open secondary fuse  on the CHG path, if needed.

    hope this adequate for the application at hand.
