Optimizing Transient Response of TPS6217x for Dynamic Load

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62170, TPS62171

Hello,

I am experiencing difficulty powering a very dynamic and sensitive rail in a system involving an Image Signal Processor + Image Sensor combo package using the TPS62170 and TPS62171. The transients are demanding, and the rail itself is quite sensitive.

The transients that occur are at 30Hz and 24kHz, one signifying a frame change and the latter for a row change.

My current LC filter has a corner frequency of 15kHz and 19kHz. After brief analysis and testing, it appears this may not be ideal for this system.

Could simply decreasing either L or C and increasing the corner frequency improve the transient response here? Or would this require some extra circuitry such as a feedforward capacitor?

Regards,

Luis
