Hi,

I am testing the BQ34z100 evm with a 4S battery. I configured the evm using jumpers to achieve the following:

-jumper to allow more than 1 LED (J1)

-16V (J2)

-Alert configuration with A (J3)

-Multi-cell mode (J5)

-4 internal LEDs (J6)

-I2C communication (J7)

I faced the following problems:

1) I was not able to establish a communication between EV2300 and the BQ evaluation software. I connected the I2C port of the BQ34z100evm to that of EV2300.

It showed a "No Acknowledge: VB_T2H_NACK" message.

and

I measured the voltage on Q3.

Q3 Gate 5.5V

Q3 Source 3.5V

and REG25 0.06V

What should I do next.

Hi Fei,

It looks like the LDO is off. What voltage do you see at the REGIN pin?

Hi Ben，

Thank you for your replay.

The REGIN voltage is about 2.3VDC.

Hi Fei,

REGIN voltage should be ~3.3 V. What voltage do you see at the drains of Q3 and Q8?

Hi Ben,

The drains voltage is about 12V and the Q8 's drain voltage is the same.

Fei,

It is interesting the voltage at the source of Q3 is 3.5 V but REGIN is only 2.3 V. I would try removing the J1 jumper to see if REGIN increases to 3.3 V. If that does not work, I would recommend removing R39 and R40 and use a power supply to apply 3.3 V directly to REGIN.

Once your REGIN voltage looks good, try bqstudio again and see if you get the same error message.

Thanks for your reply!
unfortunately,It is not work.
1.Removed J1 and the voltage is the same ,2.2V.
2.Removed R39 and R40 ,when supply 3.3V directly to REGIN(I = 0.09A) ,but the REG25 become 0.12V.
What should I do next?

Fei,

Your gauge is likely fried and would need to be replaced. REG25 should be 2.5 V if the device is operating.
