TPS55340 Efficiency (Vin=3-4V, Vout =7,8V)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS55340

Hi, Team,

The customer required 2 efficiency curve plot of TPS55340.

-Vin=3.0V - 4.0V & Vout= 7.0V、Iout = 0-2A

-Vin=3.0V - 4.0V & Vout= 8.0V、Iout = 0-2A

Do you have the data or could your take the plots?

Best Regards,

Satoshi Yone

  • I doubt that we have that specific data. I would recommend you use webench to generate the efficiency curves. If you absolutely need measured data, please contact me directly to discuss your business case.
  • Hi, John,

Thanks. I simulated the efficiency with webench and I also ordered the EVM.

BTW, The customer has additional question. Could you teach us the max current of above condition? The momentary current of their application is 1.2A, so we would like to know the capability of the device.

    Best Regards,
    Satoshi Yone
  • The max switch current is much higher than the load current for boost converters. I tried your designs in webench and they both failed. For 3 V to 4 V input and 7 V output, the maximum load current is about 1.5 A. For 8 V output the maximum load current is about 1.3 A. This is limited by the maximum switch current of 5 A.
