BQ76930 - Internal LDO tolerance and influence on temperature reading

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76930
  1. For the BQ76930 and family, what is the tolerance of the internal 3.3V LDO?
  2. Is the 14-bit ADC voltage reference tied to the same internal LDO?
  3. What is the total error of the ADC ?
  4. Besides the tolerance of the thermistor, what would be the total error of the temperature reading?

Thank you!

  • 1. with load ( I_REGOUT=10mA) , tolerance ~ +/- 4. Unloaded min 3.2V; max= 3.4V.
    2. ADC has its own reg and reference. The REGOUT is sourced from REGSRC
    3. refer to the ADC specification and the intended range of the ADC.
    4. Add pull-up resistance (Rts) + Rtsdrift; refer to spec for tolerance
  • Vish, please some follow up questions
    2. What is the tolerance of Vreg for the ADC?
    3. I could not find the total error for ADC in the spec. I am looking for SINAD, ENOB, SNR, or other equivalent parameters. Can you point me to section or page that contains such information?
    4. I assume the total error will be a sum of the external LDO, ADC Vreg, ADC total error, and tolerance of the pullup resistor. I just wanted to confirm.
    Thank you!
  • On the latest d/s (SLUSBK2G)please refer to the EC table on pp15 for the total ADC tolerance across ranges and temp.  This table however, does not have the device "aging" information and the effect of the total ADC accuracy.
