bq24292i / Power-On-Reset (POR)

Guru 29720 points

Hi TI members,

My customer confused himself that either VBUS or VBAT cycling resets I2C registers from the following description.

(datasheet page 13)

However the way to reset the registers is to remove both adapter(VBUS) and battery(BAT).
He requested to modify the description.
Is it possible to modify next datasheet update?

Best Regards,
Yaita / Japan disty

  • The d/s only mentions about VBUS or VBAT rising conditions for active I2C communication. I will discuss your feedback with the management. Thanks!

  • Hi Ning-san,

Is there any update for this requirement?
It is my customer's request so I have to inform the update to my customer.

    Best Regards,
    Yaita

  • Hello K. Yaita,

This section of the datasheet only describes the conditions for powering on the device and resetting along with the resulting IC states.

It is not intended to describe the result of a no-power condition, and instead it can be inferred that until the conditions are met to power on the device as per this section. the registers will not be reset.

However, having said this, we are taking this feedback and may likely add a description on the next datasheet update to clarify the register reset power condition.

    Thank you,

    Joel H

  • Hi Joel-san,

Thank you for considering this issue (my customer's requirement).
It is really appreciated if TI will add a description update to clarify the register reset power condition on the next datasheet.

    Best Regards,
    Yaita
