TPS6103 Programable UVLO?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61230

Hello,

I'm hoping someone can give me some insight!  I would like to be able to program the UVLO of this chip through a voltage divider.  The TPS6103 does have a built in UVLO of around 1.5V which is too low for my application.  My idea is to program the LBI pin with a 2.7V divider and use the LBO pin to pull the EN pin low when the under voltage condition happens?

I guess the only question is, if the IC is not enabled, does the LBI / LBO functionality still function?  I would really rather do this than use an external UVLO circuit.

Thanks

  • Upon further inspection of the data sheet, it looks like my idea is not an option as the comparator circuit is shutdown.

    "10.4.1 Device Enable
The device is put into operation when EN is set high. It is put into a shutdown mode when EN is set to GND. In
shutdown mode, the regulator stops switching, all internal control circuitry including the low-battery comparator is
switched off, and the load is isolated from the input (as described in the Synchronous Rectifier Section). This
also means that the output voltage can drop below the input voltage during shutdown. During start-up of the
converter, the duty cycle and the peak current are limited in order to avoid high peak currents drawn from the
    battery."
  • The TPS61230 should meet your requirement.
