TPS3710 Sense input

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3710

Hello Sirs,

May I know if tps3710 sense pin left NC ( without resistor divider )

What's output signal level ( still have pull up resistor ) ?

Many thanks !

  • Hello,

If the NC pin is left floating, the output could be either high or low. There is an ESD structure on this pin which does have some leakage. Over process and temperature the strength of the effective pull-up or pull-down as a result of the leakage can change the status of the output.

If you mean you want to drive it directly the nominal threshold is 0.4V. In this usage mode, the output would follow the input. So in this mode it would simply be functioning as a logic level shifter.

I hope this answers your question.

    Regards,
  • Hello John,
You mean the output state should be unknown, right ? When the Sense pin left "No Connection"
    Many thanks your reply !
  • HI Terry,

I can not find a reference to 450K in the TPS3710 datasheet. Do you have the latest datasheet? www.ti.com/.../TPS3710 I am wondering if you have an earlier version.

    Thanks,
  • Sorry John that I put wrong message. Pls ignore my last reply.
    I re-post question again. TKS !
