TPS65913B2BC VSYS_LO setting

Hi,

Currently VSYS_LO is configured as 2.9V in B2BC OTP setting.  Customer asks if we have any OTP version with lower VSYS_LO setting, of course other setting shall be the same to match the same processor they want to support.

I can't find such OTP version in the database.  Can you help to double confirm if we have this or not?

Thanks!

Antony

  • Hi Antony,

I can confirm that there does not currently exist an OTP which is the same as B2BC or B3BC (updated silicon revision with same settings) but with lower VSYS_LO.

If you think that this opportunity has sufficient business case to warrant an OTP spin, please contact marketing.

  • Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the update.  The customer issue is actually related to a very huge current spike in their application which will cause VSYS drop shortly.  The request a lower VSYS_LO to prevent a PMIC shutdown.  Long time ago, we propose to add more caps in VCC1.  Do you have any ideas to overcome this?

    Thanks!

    Antony

  • Hi Antony,

Adding capacitors near VCC1 should help protect the PMIC. They could also put enough capacitors near the load that is drawing the huge current spike to provide it sufficient input current to keep VSYS high. A final option could be to try using a filter inductor. It's not a preferred method but if they cannot fix their load then it may be worth a shot.
