BQ28Z610 Learning Cycle Information Conflict

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ28Z610

Hello,

My question is simply whether a learning cycle is necessary before the BQ28Z610 should be deployed? The technical reference manual mentions learning cycle use during production as it relates to certain parameters such as Fast_QMax_LRN for example. There is also the SLUA777 report detailing how to complete a learning cycle for the bq28z610 gas gauge. However, in the datasheet of the bq28Z610 IC, it specifically states that a learning cycle is not necessary and references the SLUA364B report which discusses the theory of the IT algorithm. It looks like possibly two against one in favor of a learning cycle, but could someone elucidate why there is this discrepancy?

Thank you for your time.

Blake

  • Hi, I apologize that no one has followed up with your question posted last year due to the large number of questions we got towards the end of 2016, please feel free to post a brand new question should you still need an answer instead of replying to this post. • Hi Blake,
Sometime you might get off without carrying out a learning cycle, but to ensure accuracy, it is recommended to do so. pls carrry out learning and extract a golden srec which will be used to program multiple devices.
    thanks
