BQ24250 NTC resistors thermal calcluation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24250

Hello,

We are using the BQ24250, and we see the thermal calculator for the resistor divider on TS/LDO.  In the datasheet, it states that if you are using a beta close to 3500K, then R3 isn't necessary.  We are using a beta very close to that.  However, with R3 as 0, the calculations don't work for R2.  Is there a standard resistor Rtop/Rbot combo to set 45C for TWARM and 10C for TCOOL for a 10k B=3500k NTC?

Thank you

  • Hello,

The TWARM and TCOOL thresholds are based on the values chosen for TCOLD and THOT thresholds. For JEITA, we choose TCOLD/THOT to be 0C and 60C, respectively.

Assuming a beta of 3500k, room temp impedance of the thermistor is 10k and the 0C/60C thresholds,  the values for R2/R3 results should be 5.4k and 11.1k respectively.

Just for your on reference, we have a bq2425x TS calculator tool. Please find it here.
