Question about the LMR16006 shutdown pin.
In Section 8.3.4, says that: “If the use of a higher voltage is desired due to system or other constraints, a 100 kΩ or larger resistor is recommended between the applied voltage and the SHDN pin to protect the device.” It seems that “higher voltage” may mean higher than the 1.23 volts mentioned in the previous sentence. OR does this mean higher than Vin (in which case the 100K makes sense)?
Similarly, elsewhere in that paragraph, they say: “If the shutdown function is not to be used the SHDN pin may be tied to VIN via 100kΩ resistor.”
Please clarify the need for this resistor or can the SHDN be connected direct to Vin (assuming 60V or less) or a fixed voltage which is below Vin?
