EV2400 Has Different Versions and Behaviors?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EV2400, BQSTUDIO, BQ27541-G1, BQ27541

Hi,

We just bought 2 EV2400 to be our backup programming box, and found they cannot be the direct replacement for our existing EV2400. We need to know what we should do to make the new EV2400 work for us just like the existing ones.

We are using Bqstudio V1.3.42. When opening Bqstudio with our existing EV2400 (V0.05 shown on Bqstudio but showing 0.5a on Gaugestudio), it would go straightly into the Bqstudio Software. This means our device, Bq27541-G1, is automatically recognized already. But when opening Bqstudio with the new EV2400 (V0.18 shown on Bqstudion but showing 0.1a Gaugestudio), it goes into a "Target Selection Wizard" window asking to select from Gauge, Charger, or Integrated both. Then no matter which one we choose from the 3, the software tells us the device is not supported and the software won't work for us.

Could you please kindly let us know how to fix the issue? If not, should we just return the new EV2400 to Digikey and try to get the exact same version for EV2400?

Thanks!

Allen

  • Hi Allen,

I think you could continue after you selected the gauge in the "target selection wizard" window, the next time when you open bqstudio, maybe it can automatically identify the gauge. So please try once, if the bqstudio could not work normal after you selected the gauge, skipped the uncompatible page, please tell me.

    Thank you.

    Best regards,

  • hi Allen,

Your older ev2400 is using older firmware that needs to be update. see the link below to updating the new firmware.
    www.ti.com/.../sluc578
The new one which you just got has the most up to date firmware which is v18. I don't feel the problem is with the ev2400. You should check your set up to make sure the device is powered on and properly hooked to the device and your computer. I use an Ev2400 with firwmare v 18 and it works ok with my bq27541 board and computer.

    thanks

  • Hi Allen,

Also try updating your bqStudio to v1.3.52 or later...
