Why BQ40z50-R1 stays in Maintenance charge when the state of charge is > 95%

Hi,

Our battery pack design uses BQ40z50-R1. 

After fully charged (over night), BQ40z50-R1 turns on the bit MCHG (Maintenance Charge) in the Charging Status.  The bit MCHG is automatically cleared when the state of charge drops below 95%. 

Is there a way to clear the MCHG bit earlier, at 99% threshold, so that the battery can be charged when SoC < 100%?
