We are using a Smart Charger (Max1667) with a bq20z95 gas gauge with BCAST enabled. The Max1667 cannot tolerate Alarm Broadcasts with 5 Most significant bits set. When we totally discharge the battery, we know we are going to get an alarm from TDA. We want to use Battery Mode (0x03) AM bit to disable alarms. When we send a 0x2000 to the Gauge at SBS 0x03, we still see the gauge sending out Alarms. Did we misunderstand the purpose of writing 0x2000 to 0x03? Is there a detail that was missed?
