Hello all,
In looking into the bq34z100-G1 as a replacement for bq34z110 since I found a forum posting that advised it would be best to switch to it if not too far along in a design. In doing that I found that unlike the bq34z110 part, after turning the impedance tracking on the bq34z100-G1 acts much like its sealed and does not allow any flash value to be changed. Relative to the bq34z110 I saw a forum posting saying setting the status update flash register back to zero unblocked some blocked flash locations that get blocked when turning the IT algorithm on. However that does not work with the bq34z100-G1 either.
I have been re-flashing the golden file to work around that but I was wondering if there is any way short of that to update the flash? I was also wondering if there is any documentation as to how to program the golden file outside of bqstudio too? I have a test setup where I can run the TI provided tools but was intending originally to use the bq34z110 and set its parameters with I2C commands through an embedded processor in production. To update boards that have bq34z110 chips to the bq34z100-G1 requires the flash update step and I would like to add that to the embedded processor's FW so I can automate the process.
