This question goes out to all TI power teams...

I have a customer with stringent power supply tolerance requirements across an extreme temp differential, and they are having problems with temp drift skewing the output voltage tolerance.

Do we make a power supply that has the option for an external reference?

Yes, you can make a power supply with external referecne. you can set the output voltage with external reference and external amplifier. Many controller support this function. But first , you need to know which controller do you need based on the power suppply topology?

Thanks for the response, that is exactly what I would like to do, I didn't realize how common that was. Let's say I want to do this for a buck converter 28Vin - 5Vout @ 1A.

LM5022 may fit for your application. Suggest you submit a new item with the topic " looking for a buck converter controller support 28Vin / -5Vout @ 1A output" then the related person will help you.

Hmm...That part seems to have an internal reference and error amp inside the part. Not terribly helpful.

I think the LM2744 is the only part with an external reference, so looks like this is not very common afterall.
