What is Tj(OFF) on the BQ51013A?

On page 31 of the BQ51013A datasheet, under the "Thermal Protection" section, there is a reference to a parameter called "Tj(OFF)". That is the only place where that parameter shows up, and I cannot find a value for it in the datasheet.

What is the value for Tj(OFF) on the BQ51013A?

Tj(OFF) refers to the Thermal shutdown temperature shown in the electrical characteristics table as 155C typical. The Thermal shutdown hysteresis of 20C typical indicates the device will turn back on after the reaching 20C below the shutdown temperature.

That's kind of what I figured, but I've been burned on other datasheets where a parameter name doesn't have an exact match with a value specification.

Curtis,

The bq51013A is an older device, compliant to the WPC v1.1 specification.

The bq51013B is the newer device and is v1.2. The datasheet has been updated and refers to the spec as TJ-SD in both the EC table and the Thermal protection section.

You might consider switching to the bq51013B. They are completely pin-pin compliant and you should have no issues placing the bq51013B on your PCB.

The bq51013A is compliant to WPC v1.0.

The bq51013B is compliant to WPC v1.1.
