LMZ35003 and LMZ34002 PH node connection

The data sheet advises to not connect the PH pins to any other net. My customer interpreted that to mean that they should not be connected together either. I believe that all of the PH pins are connected internally. Is it a problem if the PH pins are all just soldered down to individual pads and not connected together externally?

    For the LMZ35003 and LMZ34002, all PH pins are connected together internal to the device. The device will operate properly without making the shared connection on their PCB. The benefit of connecting the PH pins together externally using a copper island on the PCB is to improve thermal performance.
