I got the Reliability Data: DPPM / MTBF / FIT Rate from ESP for UCC2895.  Would like to know what is the main failure mechanism and life expectancy.

    hi,

     

    I checked with FA group for the information.  Here is the answer:-

    As to life expectancy – that’s exactly what the MTBF and FIT rate calculations show.  They can use the derating tool to calculate this based on their expected use conditions.

     

    As to failure mechanism – the return rate (units sent back to TI for failure analysis) on this device is very low; ~10 PPM over the last three years. The majority of the confirmed failures were the result of an EOS event that damaged the part.
