Hi!

I was wondering if the TLV61225 can be operated in shutdown mode with VIN 0V or VIN > 0V while VOUT is supplied from another source and > 0V. The datasheet mentions this:

During shutdown, the
converter stops switching and all internal control circuitry is turned off. In this case, the input voltage is connected
to the output through the back-gate diode of the rectifying MOSFET.

Does this mean, that current from the output to the input is blocked by the internal diode?

yes. it is OK to apply an voltage to VOUT pin when the VIN=0 or device shuts down

Hi Jasper,

I had one more follow-up question. Do you know how much current can flow through the device in that scenario? I was wondering if the TLV61225 can function similarly to a protection diode as well (e.g. consider VIN connected to a battery, current coming from the output side).

it is approximate 1uA flowing into VOUT to GND. The current from VOUT to VIN should very small, the leakage current of the MOSFET. but we don't specify this value.
