Unable to Open COM Port for the UART connection

Hi Kinston,

It is a little unclear what you are trying to test. Are you trying to setup the TIDM-TMS570BMS system? Or, are you trying to use the example code on a LAUNCHXL-TMS57004 with the bq76PL455EVM?

If this is related to the TIDM-TMS570BMS, have you followed all the instructions for board preparation and connection in that documentation, specifically, removing R8 and R9 on the LAUNCHXL-TMS57004?

If this with the example code, the GUI is not intended to operate with the example code.

Have you first programmed the LAUNCHXL-TMS57004 board with the TIDM firmware in CCS?

To test if your TIDA-00817 board is working, you should at least be able to get the GUI working with the board. Have you tried connecting a USB to serial adapter (ships with the bq76PL455EVM) directly to the TIDA-00817 board (after first setting the communication mode select switch to ‘Single’) to see if the GUI can find the board?

Then I can only suggest that you go over all of the connections again to verify they are correct. Did you solder the connections to the R8 and R9 pads as described in figure 7 of the TMS570 Active Cell-Balancing Battery-Management Design Guide?

I found you didn't install the driver the TMS570 lauchpad. Thus we cannot use correct COM port to communicate with TMS570.After installed, it can work normally.
