I need to convert 3.7v lithium battery's output to 3v at current <=500ma

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62740, TPS706, TPS3831

Hi

I want to replace 2 AA batteries with 3.7v lithium batteries so I need a 3v converter suggest me some widely available Ic's.

optional:
Is there any 3.7v 600mah battery charger with inbuilt 3v converter ic's ?

  • Hi Bharath,

We have many LDOs. In order to help customers better narrow the selection and find the best LDO for their application, we provide a parametric search. You can use this search to limit quickly sort the LDOs using criteria such as Vin, Vout, Iout, package group and more. You can find the parametric search here:

    Very Respectfully,

  • This is the LDO forum, but you may not want to use an LDO for a battery-powered application due to the typically lower efficiency. For easy to use DC/DCs, please see the TPS62233 and TPS62740/3.
  • Hi Bharath,

Since this is battery powered, you may want to look at the TPS706. This is a very low ~1uA IQ LDO which could be great for powering the MCU (but it is limited to 150mA). When the device is enabled, then can can power either a higher current LDO or DC/DC to provide the higher current. The smallest size LDO we have at the moment for ~500mA is the TPS7A3701DRV.

Also, if you need a voltage monitor/reset IC, the TPS3831 is probably the lowest IQ device on the market. It comes in a 1x1 package (so smaller than a discreet RC) and its IQ is only 150nA!

Let me know what you think.
