Hi,

TPS650832 would enter emergency shutdown by long pressing PWRBTNIN. Customer would like to have the chip exit emergency shutdown automatically when the user release the PWRBTNIN (from long pressing it to enter emergency shutdown.)

Their proposal is as below. Since EC_ONOFFZ will be driven low when PWRBTININ is triggered low, when PWRBTININ is released we expect ACOK will be driven high as well. ACOK rising edge is an event to exit emergency shutdown. Do you think this is workable?

Antony,

I think this will work. I would suggest to add an RC delay at the ACOK pin as shutdown process needs to finish before we the exit emergency shutdown. I will try it on bench and will update you tomorrow.

Antony,

We have discussed about this recommendation and believe this will work. As per the RC values, you can use 10K and 10nf capacitor to make sure there is no race condition.

This is PEGATRON EE RD Patrick.
Does this circuit impact the power consumption if we use it and pull PMIC ACOK to high?
We have a very low power consumption requirement when the system in shutdown state.
