What is the difference between LP2951 and LP2951-N

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP2951, LP2951-N

As the title says, what is the difference between these two regulators?

  • The "-N" in  "LP2951-N" is the identifier for the National Semiconductor version of LP2951, which Texas Instruments now owns, but was previously a competitor.

The LP2951-N is still fabricated in the same wafer fabrication facility, using the same process, and tested at the same test site, as it was when it was under National Semiconductor.

Otherwise, they are considered as functional equivalents (i.e. second source) of each other.
