Dear, All

I will ask about the BAT pin of BQ2057.
The absolute maximum rated value of BAT pin is written as "VCC + 0.3 V" on P5 of the data sheet.
However, this is inconsistent with the sentence of "low-power sleep mode" described on page 14 of the data sheet.
Here it is stated that entering Sleep mode when VCC is set to 0 V while voltage is being input to the BAT pin.
In addition, the description of "electrical characteristics over recommended operating free-air temperature range" in data sheet P4 also contradicts.
Here, the value of I (VCCS) when V (BAT) - VCC ≧ 0.8 V is described.
Which is right?

Hello Masami,

I agree that the absolute maximum voltage rating on the BAT pin is not clear. I am working with the design team to get a complete answer. This is a legacy device so it may take some time to get the full answer.

Hello Masami,

After internal discussions and lab work, we've determined the intent of the spec. And, we have a simple ABS MAX on the BAT pin.

The intent of the spec that shows ABS MAX of BAT as "VCC + 0.3V" is that VCC is at ABS MAX of 18V. Therefore, the ABS MAX of BAT is 18.3V.
