I have a handheld battery pack design that copies the BQ20Z655-R1/BQ20Z95EVM schematic. I downloaded sluc304 (bqEVSW for BQ20Z655-R1). I'm using the EV2300. When I open up the bqEVSW and select the appropriate chip, I get the error message "Communication error code(decimal) = VB_SMBC_LOCKED".

I tried applying power to Pack+/- but nothing is happening. I can't find how to exit shut-down mode and I can't find any info other than this error message is "reserved for backward compatability" what ever that means...

I do have an off the shelf BMS board connected to a pack that uses the BQ20Z95DBT and I'm able communicate with it just fine using my EV2300, so I don't think its a setup issue.
