Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65132S, TPS65132

Our customer consider to use TPS65132S.

How much INEG load is need at below 20kHz requency(80mA mode).

Datasheet P39 Figure55 shows 38.5kHz is at 4mA INEG load(80mA mode)

  • Hello kura,

I am sorry, but I do not understand your question, would you please detail it a little bit more?

    Best regards,

    Brigitte

  • At light load conditon, this part enter to PFM mode. Datasheet P39 Figure55 shows 38.5kHz is at 4mA INEG load.
In this mode,SW timing depend on not only TPS65132 but also L,C, and load condition.
Customer would like to know how much INEG need when 20kHz SW requency was seen.
  • Hello Kura,

Please excuse the late response. Just to be absolute sure, we are speaking about the frequency of the charge pump for VNEG.

Here the light load condition needed is dependent on the programming of the IC. The frequency is dependent on the current the charge pump can deliver per cycle. The IC can deliver most current when the SYNC pin is set to high. When the SYNC pin is set to low, it can deliver more current per cycle when the Mode bit is programmed to 80mA and less current when the Mode bit is programmed to 40mA.

Does the customer have the possibility to change the SYNC pin setting as well as the programming when the system is going into a light load condition? If this is the case, less load current on VNEG is needed compared to the case when SYNC is high.

    Best regards,
    Brigitte
