Please help TL 5001 PWM controller connection question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL5001

I am try to build up a PWM controller for my H-bridge to control a motor. I use TL 5001 chip (dip package). Since the application example in the data sheet is more related to power control, I might misunderstand the connectors meaning from there. I need some help on using the TL 5001 chip.

The data sheet is here : http://www.ti.com/lit/gpn/tl5001

What I want is: Input a voltage signal to TL5001 and generate PWM output

Here is what I did:

PIN1:connected to a pull up resistor and the other end of the resistor is connected to 5V power source. The PWM "output" is in between PIN1 and the resistor

PIN2: connected to 5V power source

PIN3: nothing

PIN4: signal voltage (between 0-2V)

PIN5: 1uF cap to gnd

PIN6: nothing

PIN7: connected to 100kohm resistor. The other end of the resistor was connected to GND

PIN8: connected to GND
