bq40z50-r1 data flash write for sub-milliOhm current sense resistor

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ40Z50-R1

With the bq40z50-r1, is it possible to use MAC commands to write data flash values to CC Gain and Capacity Gain for a current sense resistor smaller than 0.5 mOhm? Are there formulas to convert from resistance to CC Gain and Capacity Gain values?

  • Hi John,

CC Gain and Capacity Gain values are the calibrated value of the sense resistor based on a known current. If the sense resistor is 0.5 mOhm then CC Gain and Capacity Gain should be approximately the same value 0.5 mOhm or close. It's important to calibrate the value to take into consideration any PCB trace resistance that could impact the accuracy of the current measurement.
