Hello,
One of my end customer is in Malaysia, and have some trouble with using our Inverter application due to high temperature.
Actually, about 30 of 200 sets of our inverter control board do not operature in field use,
and we changed MCU several times but the symtom is not improved.
So we found the regulator which is TI's TPS70151 do not work at failure boards.
The problem of TPS70151 is that the reset pin do not work.
Nothing significant to report on our board and the surrounding area of TPS70151, but the thermal pad of TPS70151 is through-hole type.
below is my question list.
1. at TPS70151 datatsheet, the recommanded operatiing condition of this TI's device is up to 125C.
- is there any TI's reliability standards for thermal condition? e.g., how long time can this ic endure at 125C?
- if you have the data but it's TI's confidential, please let me know the contact point of TI Korea person whom I can give my information.
2. Does TI have any other device that can guarantee more higher temperature and same function and same pinout to TPS70151?
- You can recommand better device regardless of higher price.
3. Is there any other option to reduece heat besides the thermal pad?
- I think the chip makers have some idea at the top side of the device.
4. The mechanical data of TPS70151 (datasheet page 39, right top side picture), the gap of seating plane and the guage plane is 0.25.
- can you reduce this point for us? it may need customizing.
5. there are many blocks inside the TPS70151, and I'd like to know which part is a vulnerable point to high temperature.
- I think the regulating part is more sensitive, but acutually the reset part do not operature.
Please look through above questions, and give us a reply.
