We are working with the BQ40Z60EVM-578 and are unable to get the unit to charge. We are using all default parameters for 3 cell charging with only the NR bit set to 1 and the SYSPRES jumper removed from the board. We issued the GAUGE_EN, FET_EN and CHARGER_EN commands, but the CHG and DSG FET's remain off and no current is drawn, even with a near empty cell connected.
We also tried to manually enable the charging by setting Manufacturing Status: FET_EN to 0 and then toggling the CHG and DSG FET's. However the ACFET is off in this mode and we are unable to find the ACFET_TEST command to toggle the ACFET.
We tried two different BQ40Z60EVM-578 boards and get the same result on both.
Attached is the .gg file and a screenshot of the registers.
Any suggestions on what to check will be much appreciated. Information on what commands to issue to enable charging as well as the command sequence will also be appreciated.
