The gauge (bq40z60) can report the hardware version of the device (ManufacturerAccess() 0x0003 Hardware Version). I get a value of 0x1 and 0x6 from the bq40z60 parts that we've purchased from TI. Most of the bq40z60 parts we've purchase have been in 2016 with date/lot codes of TI 631 A275 G4. There seems to be no pattern to HW version reported versus the date/lot code.
What is the difference between the various hardware versions? What is this value telling me?
The reason I ask is related to a Data Memory (Flash) programming issue that we've encountered on a small number of bq40z60 devices. All of these bq40z60 devices are running FW ver 0.15/build 21
