bq27411 SOC accuracy

We are using a bq27411-g1a in a product and are in the process the determining the resistance profile and Qmax of the battery using a learning cycle. I supposed that after the parameters are programmed into the gauge, it will be accurate and the SOC could be used by an MCU to know the correct battery state of charge.

From the gauge's technical document, I read that the Update Status could be use for this purpose (sluuas7b p.45):

"Bit 0 (0x01) of the Update Status register indicates that the gauge has learned new Qmax parameters
and is accurate."

Is reading the Update Status the proper way of knowing that the gas gauge SOC is accurate ?

What will happen to the Update Status if the gauge reset ?

Will it takes the gauge a whole learning cycle to be accurate again ?
