TPS62740 output in shutdown

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62740

I want to use a Buck regulator in my project, specifically TPS62740. I saw in its datasheet when we connect the Enable pin to ground the IC goes into the shutdown mode, and it also mentioned in the datasheet that when IC is in shutdown mode the Isd(shutdown current) is max 1000nA. I want to know one thing that what is the Output voltage of the IC when its in shutdown mode? and also is the Isd is equal to quiescent current in shutdown mode?

Thanks.

  • When any IC is in shutdown, it is off and not switching. For a buck converter, the high side switch is off so Vout will go to 0. The output discharge feature in the TPS62740 will drain any remaining charge at Vout.

Isd is the current consumption for shutdown while Iq is current consumption when enabled.
