Hi,

We are planning to interface BQ27542EVM_Fuel Gauge with i.X7 SABRE Board. For the same we are planning to connect the J3 only. IS any other pins required?

Could you please brief any other connection is required? We are confused as there is no power supply to the fuel gauge. Please describe in detail how to test this EVM

Hello,

You have to connect a battery to J1 and your load (system) to J2. The battery will power the gauge.
Further information is in www.ti.com/.../sluub79.

Could you please elaborate what needs to be connected to J2? Please explain the terms PACK+ and PACK-
Currently I have interfaced only J3 to our interface board. Please guide if this is enough. Please guide the steps to evaluate this EVM

Connect the items that your want to power with the battery to J2. You can view the combination of battery and EVM as a "battery pack" - this is a typical configuration where a manufacturer includes the gauge with protection circuit and a battery as one single unit (=pack). Therefore you connect the system (=items that will be powered) to the PACK+ and PACK- terminals on J2.

The EVM does not come with a battery.

At preset I have taken the I2C lines from the J3 connector. Then i need to connect battery to J1 and my end board which should be powered up to J2.

But I don't have a battery now.Can you please share the the part number of the battery which you recommend?

Hi Meria,

The bq27542-G1 supports Li-ion batteries with capacities less than 14600 mAh. You would need to choose your battery based on your system requirements (how much run time, etc). As long as your chosen battery is Li-ion and is less than 14.6 Ah, this gauge will support it.
